It was a pair of defeats for the Cleveland girls summer 18 team Tuesday as it fell 6-1, 13-4 to visiting New Ulm.
Desi Becker threw the first game of the double header. The Clippers were limited to just two singles in the contest: one off the bat of short stop Kylie Krause and the other one from catcher Megan Gjemse.
Cassidy Kopet took the mound for Cleveland in the second game. The Clippers took an early 2-0 lead after hits by Krause and first basemen Anna Dickie.
Dickie also started the third with a hit and scored. Kyndra Baker, who walked her way to first, also scored in that inning, but that was all the offense the Clippers could muster as New Ulm, who fielded several players from the State playoff contending team, cruised to an easy triumph.
The Clippers will be back in action with another double header on Thursday when they take on Mankato. The first game is at 6:00 pm.
